Recommended Systems for Cladding

Anker Stuy offers a range of options for coating Accoya cladding, including low film-forming coatings that result in a natural wood finish, perfect for burred or rough-looking cladding. These coatings penetrate deep into the timber pores, providing long-lasting UV protection without the risk of peeling. They can also be easily maintained as the coating ages. Alternatively, Anker Stuy offers semi film-forming coatings for a clean, "finished" look. This is a more suitable solution for deep colours.

Maintenance Intervals for Coated Accoya

The length of the maintenance interval depends on the detailing and degree of stress. Clear or lightly pigmented coatings are not advised, as they offer little to no UV protection, resulting in premature coating aging. Many other factors influence the lifespan of coatings on cladding, including how the timber is sawn. Rough-sawn timbers offer a greater surface area for the coating, increasing adhesion and durability.
