Wood Primers for all wood spieces

Our Hydrolux primer has been developed for a wide range of wood species including most hardwoods and softwoods as well as the newer modified species such as Accoya. Good adhesion to bare wood is key. Our Tri-Cryl technology offers great adhesion to the wood, which in combination with the low water uptake is very important for the long term durability of the joinery item. Our Hydrolux primers are very fast curing and drying. With the right climate settings you will be able to sand the primer within 2 hours.

Wood pilling properties for a smooth appearance

Our Hydrolux Filling Primer will give you the opportunity to fill the grain and offer a smooth classy appearance. It also can help hide finger joints on engineered timber and also has great filling properties on exterior MDF. To achieve the desired appearance apply two layers of Hydrolux filling primer at a wet film thickness of 175 microns. For topcoats we recommend one of our Hydrolux topcoats which are available in semi-matt, semi-gloss and gloss.

Flow-coat Wood Primer

Also available is our Hydrolux SPC which is a lower viscosity primer for flow-coat apparatus.

Perfect primer colour mixing and matching

Our primers can be mixed to RAL, NCS and many other colour ranges which means that you can apply a dark colour underneath a dark topcoat. The result is that any damage to the topcoat will not be very visible. All our products are colour matched and mixed in Peterborough. Do you want a colour from a different colour chart? Then use our colour matching service.

Certified paint and primer products

All our paint products, including our primers, undercoats and topcoat systems, are certified by the SKH wood institute in The Netherlands and are supplied under KOMO certifications - widely regarded as the leading accreditation body in Europe for testing and accreditation of products for the construction industry.
